Before choosing a photographer based solely on price, consider this.
The cake will be demolished and forgotten in a few days, the dress will be put in a box and rarely see the light of day, the reception and ceremony will soon become a distant memory, but the photos will still be looked at your by children and grandchildren in 10, 20 30 years time. You are buying a piece of future social history.
We will work with you to provide the best solution for your needs. This may be a formal or informal approach, reportage or whatever you want. You want a record that you can look back on long after the memories of the day are forgotten to re-live that very special day.
With full day packages, the photos taken at the wedding will be presented at the reception on a computer display for the guests to see, especially nice for those who did not attend the wedding.
Approx. 2 weeks after the wedding the pictures will be available on this web site for relatives & friends to view and order. To see the style of work we do, feel free to browse the on-line weddings currently available. You should be aware that the images on the web are very small thumbnails only, designed to prevent the theft of images from the web, and in no way represent what the final printed images, or the images on disk given to you, will look like.
Copyright in all photos remains with Derek Barrett Photography but you are free to use the CD to have photos printed for your personal use and to share with family & friends, however we take no responsibility for the quality of the prints you receive from your printer or processor. Please read our copyright statement.
The only way for you to see our work is for us to meet up and we can show you some actual prints and a slideshow. This way you can see the depth and vibrancy of the pictures which is impossible on the reduced formats which are required for the Internet.

We bring a totally professional but discrete approach to our work, leaving nothing to chance, always having a least one full backup of equipment with us to ensure that your priceless photos are taken, and all photos are archived so that you can obtain reprints of any photo at any time in the future.
For our all day package you will get
- The services of a professional photographer who is a Qualified Licentiate of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (LSWPP)
- We will meet with you and your vicar/priest and the reception venue planners before the day to ensure that we have not left any detail to chance.
- A Full days coverage as you want from bridal preparations, through the ceremony and reception
- Our photographers only ever cover one wedding a day, so you will have the undivided attention to ensure that your day is recorded to your requirements in the best possible way.
- We work in an unobtrusive way so that you and your guests can relax and enjoy their day without being pushed and pulled into unnatural poses.
- Prior to the wedding we can shoot a few informal engagement photos and bring one of these in a large frame for you guests to sign as an novel twist on the traditional guest book.
- During the day we take an unlimited number of pictures of yourselves and your guests, from the brides preparations up to the first dance and evening celebrations. These will be a combination of formal and informal pictures in and around the wedding and reception venues. You can take as long as you like over these.
- Individual assessment of every shot will be made to extract the best possible images with any required basic image corrections. These will be a mixture of full colour, monochrome, sepia and effects pictures as best illustrate the subject.
- Full public liability and professional indemnity insurance is carried to give you peace of mind.
- A CD of the images will be prepared, including a slide show. The images are of sufficient resolution to allow 7” x 5” prints to be made. Higher resolution files may be provided at additional cost.
- You will be given a Limited license to use the images to allow personal prints to be made from the supplied CD.
- The images will be transferred to this web site so that your friends, relatives, etc. can view the wedding pictures and order prints directly from the site. The web page may be password protected if you require.
Albums
The standard fee does not include an album. We offer a wide choice of albums. You can have as many or as few pictures in a album as you choose. Many couples choose to leave the selection of an album until later, when their finances have recovered.
